Colorado Number Two In The Nation For Not Vaccinating Children Fully

November 28, 2011

The results of a new study is showing that more parents are opting out of properly vaccinating their children before sending them to school, with seven percent of the state’s population opting not to vaccinate their children fully. Channel 9 News reported that Colorado ranks number two in the nation for children not being fully vaccinated.

Parents have the ability to exempt their children from the vaccines for medical purposes or religious and philosophical reasons. Many parents say they fear the risks the vaccines pose to their children, while others do not feel the vaccinations are necessary. Though research is inconclusive on many of the dangers parents say vaccinations pose, medical professionals do know that outbreaks of dangerous diseases could occur if more parents follow the trend of not properly vaccinating children.

The report cited one doctor who recounted how polio made a comeback some years ago in China after being eradicated for two decades when a Pakistani immigrant brought the disease back into the country.

The Colorado Drug Injury Lawyers with the McDivitt Law Firm want you to tell us where you stand in the debate on childhood vaccinations. Are they completely unnecessary or do they keep dangerous diseases at bay? Tell us your opinion by posting to our Facebook page.
