According to police, the suspect fled the scene after getting out of the car that was involved in the deadly crash. Per the APD press release, a Toyota Sequoia SUV was traveling southbound on Reservoir Road, just south of Mansfield Avenue, when the driver lost control and hit the man and the two dogs, killing all three of them.

The SUV returned to the road and crossed a center median before coming to a halt. Before stopping, the Toyota reportedly ran into a bus stop, many signs, and an electrical box.

At the time the press release was issued, the suspect’s identity remained unknown. Before lanes were reopened, Reservoir Road in the southbound direction was closed for the whole morning for the collision investigation.

Anyone with information may get in touch with the Aurora Police Traffic Section or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers. The press release states that the investigation is still in its early stages at this time.
