Attorney Teresa Abbott received her B.A. degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver and studied law at the University of Missouri School of Law, in Kansas City, Missouri. She came to McDivitt Law Firm as a Colorado injury lawyer after a 29-year career with the federal government, working with the Social Security Administration. She focuses her practices completely on Social Security Disability law.

While working at the Social Security Administration, Teresa Abbott received numerous awards, including several performance and service quality awards. She received a General Counsel’s Quality Service Award as a member of the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Pilot Team in the District of Colorado, the Equal Opportunity Achievement Award, and the Team Award for presenting Public Discrimination Complaints/Civil Rights training, among other accolades.

Her experience in the Office of the General Counsel in Denver has helped shape her drive for public service and volunteerism. This lifelong commitment stretches beyond her legal career, and Teresa Abbott plans to continue giving back to the community by helping those who are disabled and indigent.
