Centennial Elementary Thanksgiving Feast
Centennial Elementary School invited us to join them for their Thanksgiving feast. David had the chance to read to the students and we were lucky enough to have a special Thanksgiving story read to us by the students as well!
Toys for Tots
We held our annual office holiday toy drive for Toys for Tots November 12th through December 13th to do our part in providing some holiday cheer for the less fortunate children throughout the community.
Silver Key
Fourteen volunteers from our office headed to Silver Key on November 1st to help them prepare 600 Thanksgiving bags for their clients. The items we prepared were from their annual Stuff the Bus event that was held over the weekend.
Some of the McDivitt team members and their families went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo on Oct. 18th to carve pumpkins for their Boo at the Zoo Event. We had a great time helping out!
Drive Smart Colorado Traffic Safety Challenge
Lisa McDivitt and Anne-Marie from our office recently attended the Drive Smart Colorado 2012 High School Traffic Safety Challenge kickoff breakfast at the Double Tree in Colorado Springs. Through the end of 2012, students at more than 30 schools throughout Colorado will compete to bring comprehensive traffic safety education programs to their peers. We are on the board of Drive Smart Colorado, and are thrilled to sponsor the PSA portion of this challenge. The winning team will be awarded a monetary donation to their school, and their PSA will be aired on local television.
New School Supplies for Kindergarteners
We recently delivered backpacks full of brand new school supplies to over 100 kindergarteners at Centennial Elementary School. We realize the cost of school supplies can add up, so we were happy to help out and invest in our community’s future! See more photos from the event here.
AHA Heart Walk
We participated in the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk again this year and had a wonderful time raising funds and awareness for such an important cause.
McDivitt Law Firm Awards 2012 PSA Contest Winners
This year, we recognized two co-winners of our annual PSA contest—Daniel Carr and Michelle Manthei. We’d like to thank everyone who participated and helped spread awareness about the dangers of distracted driving.
Heart Walk Pancake Breakfast
We held a pancake breakfast to raise funds for our Heart Walk Team. We raised $193 at the breakfast and have raised $753 internally for this great cause by holding two internal raffles and various donations from staff members!
Partners for Healthy Choices
Our office collaborated with Partners for Healthy Choices to help get their Stop Smoking Campaign banner posted on a billboard in Manitou Springs. The goal of the campaign is to help achieve a tobacco-free campus. A group of Manitou Springs students presented our office with an award, which was a series of autographed photos by the students demonstrating their approach to living tobacco-free.
SET Wine Tasting
We helped sponsor a wine tasting to benefit SET Family Medical Clinics, which provides healthcare to low-income individuals and families. The event was held at The Warehouse Restaurant & Gallery on West Cimarron Street.
Habitat for Humanity Home Build

Online Charity Fundraiser
We recently invited visitors to vote on our website for one of the local chapters of these charities: Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association, and The Salvation Army. With more than 1,000 votes, The Salvation Army received the greatest number of votes and received a $1,000 donation. Thanks to the overwhelming participation in our online open house and charity fundraiser, we made donations to all the charities.
Martinis and Manicures
We attended the American Heart Association’s Martinis and Manicures event on Feb. 23 to celebrate National Heart Month and to help raise funds and awareness to fight heart disease.
Safe and Sober Certificate of Recognition

We helped The Salvation Army serve its annual Thanksgiving dinner to area residents on November 23. We had a great time lending a hand to make sure everyone in our community had a warm holiday meal.

We sponsored a Zumbathon at the Southeast Family Center/Armed Services YMCA. Proceeds benefit military family programs.
Bring a Turkey to Work Day
We raised $430 for Bring a Turkey to Work Day, which was sponsored by KLITE 106.3 and Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado.
Colorado Springs Go Red for Women Luncheon
Several ladies who work at the firm attended the Go Red for Women Luncheon on October 28, which helps bring awareness about the dangers of heart disease for women as well as raise money for the American Heart Association. The event included lectures, a silent auction, stress relieve classes, and more.
Baile de Halloween 2011
We were the main sponsor of the Baile de Halloween celebration at the Latin Dragon Night Club on October 28. Our firm provided the cash prizes for the best costume awards. See more photos.

2011 Distracted Driving PSA Contest
We would like to congratulate Markus Koloszy, a 10th grade student at The Classical Academy, for winning this year 's video public service announcement contest! Markus spent more than 10 hours using his iPod Touch to record and edit his video, and he even enlisted the help of the local police department to create his entry. Student PSA Contest Winner Presentation
Mike and Karen McDivitt recognized Air Academy High School student Jeffrey Stark for winning the firm's third annual video PSA contest with a Mac laptop equipped with movie-making software during a presentation ceremony at his school. SET Wine Tasting
For the second year in a row, McDivitt Law Firm sponsored the SET Wine Tasting fundraiser that benefited the SET Family Medical Clinics, a nonprofit organization that provides basic medical health care and holistic health programs to uninsured, underinsured, and low income community members. Firm employees Damon Brune, Neil Whitmer, and Jonathan Stine attended the event, which was held on April 25 at The Warehouse restaurant and included a variety of wines, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction. Nearly 40 members of McDivitt Law Firm celebrated Administrative Professionals Day by having dinner at The Warehouse Restaurant. Director of Operations, and Elvis Presley fan, Cindy Sabbagh also was honored for being with the firm for 10 years and received a recognition plaque along with a collectible Elvis Jailhouse Rock telephone.
