
On January 20, Major General Joseph Anderson of Fort Carson presented our law firm with a certificate of recognition for our ongoing Safe and Sober program. We’re proud to help keep everyone in our community safe, including all the brave men and women who serve our country.

We helped The Salvation Army serve its annual Thanksgiving dinner to area residents on November 23. We had a great time lending a hand to make sure everyone in our community had a warm holiday meal.

We sponsored a Zumbathon at the Southeast Family Center/Armed Services YMCA. Proceeds benefit military family programs.

We raised $430 for Bring a Turkey to Work Day, which was sponsored by KLITE 106.3 and Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado.

Several ladies who work at the firm attended the Go Red for Women Luncheon on October 28, which helps bring awareness about the dangers of heart disease for women as well as raise money for the American Heart Association. The event included lectures, a silent auction, stress relieve classes, and more.

We were the main sponsor of the Baile de Halloween celebration at the Latin Dragon Night Club on October 28. Our firm provided the cash prizes for the best costume awards. See more photos.

We took part in the Colorado Springs Start! Heart Walk on June 4 to help raise funds and awareness to help build healthier lives. Everyone had a great time, and the event raised a total of $131,158! Find more photos.

We would like to congratulate Markus Koloszy, a 10th grade student at The Classical Academy, for winning this year 's video public service announcement contest! Markus spent more than 10 hours using his iPod Touch to record and edit his video, and he even enlisted the help of the local police department to create his entry. We provided 283 rides during our Halloween Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program! Thanks again to Yellow Cab of Colorado Springs for its continued support.

We showed our civic pride and volunteered to help clean up sections of Colorado Springs by pulling weeds, collecting trash, and cleaning sidewalks on September 1.

Mike and Karen McDivitt recognized Air Academy High School student Jeffrey Stark for winning the firm's third annual video PSA contest with a Mac laptop equipped with movie-making software during a presentation ceremony at his school. Jeffrey's PSA also was placed on local television, and his school received a $1,000 donation from McDivitt Law Firm.
For the second year in a row, McDivitt Law Firm sponsored the SET Wine Tasting fundraiser that benefited the SET Family Medical Clinics, a nonprofit organization that provides basic medical health care and holistic health programs to uninsured, underinsured, and low income community members. Firm employees Damon Brune, Neil Whitmer, and Jonathan Stine attended the event, which was held on April 25 at The Warehouse restaurant and included a variety of wines, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction.
Nearly 40 members of McDivitt Law Firm celebrated Administrative Professionals Day by having dinner at The Warehouse Restaurant. Director of Operations, and Elvis Presley fan, Cindy Sabbagh also was honored for being with the firm for 10 years and received a recognition plaque along with a collectible Elvis Jailhouse Rock telephone.

McDivitt Law Firm joined in the local Cinco de Mayo festivities by offering the Safe and Sober program, which paid the way for 377 safe rides home!

The Safe and Sober program ran from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17, and provided nearly 350 safe rides home. Thanks to Yellow Cab of Colorado Springs for its continued assistance with our program!
McDivitt Law Firm has donated thousands of dollars to local Delta Epsilon Chi (DECA) Youth in Action students from Pine Creek High School to help further their competition against other DECA students in local, state, and national competitions.

McDivitt Law Firm covered the cost of a record-breaking 870 cab rides home on New Year's Eve! At the time, the firm had paid for more than 3,600 safe rides home for those who needed a safe way home in Colorado Springs.
McDivitt Law Firm sponsored the High School Challenge presented by Drive Smart Colorado Springs. The 2009 winners—a group of students from Liberty High School—produced a video about the dangers of distracted driving and won the honor of having their video aired on local television!

This was the first time the firm sponsored the program on Halloween, which resulted in more than 640 free rides to area residents in need of a safe way home!

Safe and Sober provided approximately 800 rides during New Year s Eve 2008 and will now be offered during St. Patrick 's Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Halloween.

The initial event, which ran from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., was launched on New Year 's Eve 2007 and provided more than 400 safe rides home.
As a result of our community involvement, we've been honored to receive awards from the Colorado State Patrol Pikes Peak Region DUI Task Force, the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Colorado.

We're sponsoring a table at the American Heart Association's Heart Ball on Saturday, Feb. 11 at The Broadmoor as well as sponsoring cab rides home for the ball and the Dancing After Dark post-event. Tickets are available for purchase on the AHA website.
